Calgary deserves a police service that leads the nation in excellence, innovation, and public trust. That’s why our plan focuses on three priorities in order:
FIRST STEP: Retention
We will support and retain the experienced officers already serving our city. That means competitive compensation, improved workplace culture, and making CPS the best place in Canada for a policing career.
STEP 2: Learning, Equipment & Innovation
We will invest in modern resources that make our officers safer, stronger, and smarter. This includes: 12 new service dogs to expand our Victim Assistance Support Team (VAST) and Wellness & Resiliency Services, supporting operations in the field and providing therapy supporting officers as they face the reminders of their job everyday.
Resilience and intelligence training, equipping our officers with the skills to handle the toughest challenges.
Cutting-edge technology, preparing CPS to lead in national security and adapt to emerging threats, including advanced information systems and preparation for post-quantum algorithms.
STEP 3: Recruitment
With retention and resources secured, CPS will become Canada’s top destination for new recruits. We will attract the brightest, most capable officers by offering the strongest professional development, the best culture, and the clearest mission: to proactively serve communities and keep Calgary safe.
With this plan, the Calgary Police Service will be the finest police service in Canada—leading in law enforcement, in innovation, and in community trust.
